Course Content

Module 1
Introduction to DBT

This module provides an overview of the theory and principles of DBT. Participants will learn about the four components of DBT, the biosocial theory of emotion dysregulation, and the structure of DBT treatment.

Module 2
Mindfulness Skills

This module focuses on mindfulness as a foundational skill in DBT. Participants will learn what mindfulness is, how to practice it, and how it can be applied to reduce stress, improve emotional regulation, and enhance interpersonal relationships.

Module 3
Emotional Regulation

This module introduces the emotion regulation skills taught in DBT. Learn about the functions of emotions, how to identify and label emotions, and how to regulate emotions using strategies such as opposite action, problem-solving, and self-soothing.

Module 4
Interpersonal effectiveness

This module covers the interpersonal effectiveness skills taught in DBT. Participants will learn how to communicate effectively, assertively, and with boundaries, how to navigate conflicts and negotiate needs, and how to build and maintain positive relationships.

Module 5.
Distress Tolerance skills

Applying DBT skills

Written Assignments

There are two written assignments for this course to be submitted at the end of Unit 3 and end of 6. You will find the assignment questions on your dashboard. The questions are straightforward and relate directly to the reading material.

It can take up to 14 days to receive your grade and feedback.

No. We do not require formal referencing for these assignments. Feel free to use them if you wish but it is not mandatory.

It is fine to go either 10% under or `10% over the word count. Any more or less than that and the assignment will be returned to you to resubmit.
