Some people have commented on the above quote saying that the word “emoting” is incorrect. Albert Ellis used the verb “emoting” instead of the passive noun “emotion”  to convey the idea that we have control over our emotions. It suggests that we are not just passive recipients of our feelings; instead, we can actively influence and manage them. This perspective encourages individuals to take an active role in shaping their emotional experiences, using their understanding, emotions, and actions in a coordinated effort to improve their mental health and well-being.
